Artritis of the Foot
This example I would like to share with you comes from a lady who was suffering with arthritis in her big toe on her right foot. She’d been suffering with this pain for ten years, but in the last two months the pain had become so severe that she could barely stand on her right foot. This was a real issue for this lady because she worked as a hairdresser in her own salon. Because the job means being on your feet all day she was frightened she wouldn’t be able to do her job any more, and she was seriously worried for her career. She had gone to her doctor for help, to be told that she had arthritis in her toe, and unfortunately there was nothing he could do, other than prescribe a high dose of pain killers to help her manage her day. So she ends up coming to see me, desperate for some help.
The Conflict Shock or UDIN
So after some questioning in connection to this problem, we find the stressful event, or shock, was to do with not being able to stand up to her mother. The moment she became aware of that, a good part of that resolved for her instantly in her head, and the pain in her big toe went! This lady was overjoyed.
She’d hobbled into my treatment room, hardly able to walk, but at the end of that session, she walked out again pain free.
Releasing the Triggers
A few days later she contacted me to say the pain in her big toe had returned, but now she was feeling it when she got home, after a day’s work at the salon. So she came back, and I asked her if she had spoken to or seen her mum. She hadn’t. But it suddenly dawned on her that she was talking about her mum to her customers when cutting their hair. This meant her body was going into stress every time she spoke about her mum, then when she got home from work and began to relax, her body would go into resolution so the pain would come back. So I worked with this lady for another three sessions to clear the pattern she was running and to release the triggers. Those triggers being any time she was reminded of having to stand up to her mum, and any time she talked to someone, which included her customers, about her mum. Releasing all the negative emotions tied into those triggers helped release the pain in this lady’s big toe permanently, and so she is now able to continue with her hairdressing business completely pain free.
